Sri Guru Purnima and Forty Third Aradhana day Satsang

The Vyas Purnima, also called Guru Purnima was celebrated on Thursday July 21, 2005,  with a befitting program commencing in the morning with group recitation of Sri Jaya Ganesh Kirtan, Guru Stotras, Shanti path, Paduka vandana, japa and meditation under the guidance of Rev. Sri. M. J. Patani Saheb and  H. H. Sri. Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj.

Sri Bhagwan Vyasa is also known as Sri Krishna Dvaipayana, who is a compiler of the Vedas and a author of the Brahma Sutras and eighteen Puranas, including the Srimad Bhagavata Mahapuranas. It is believed that the Lord Narayana Himself incarnated as Sri. Vyasa. Swamiji paid homage to Sri Vyasa Bhagavan, the Guru-parampara and the Holy Master Gurudev Sri. Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj and the Most Worshipful Gurumaharaj Sri Swami Chidanandji Maharaj.

Evening satsang (from 6.00pm- 9.30pm) was highlighted with grand Padukapujan, Bhakti Sangeet by Ms. Nirali Udeshi, Ms. Devki Patel, Mrs. Mayurika Oza, Mrs. Ranjana Harish and a discourse by Rev. Swami Adhyatmanandaji.

Rev. Swamiji shared the thoughts of teaching of Sadgurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj.  He emphasized the need of daily sadhana for spiritual seeker. The life of a spiritual seeker is a constant struggle for developing virtues and eradicating vices. Desires, lust, anger, greed, delusion (moha), jealousy, etc. are some of the vices that one has to eradicate and develop virtues like, compassion, love, truthfulness, ahimsa, equanimity, brahmacharya etc. One has to wear the armour of wisdom while walking through the battlefield of life and cut the enemy of ignorance with the sword of discrimination. Seek not the name & fame in the world outside. Such temptations are to be checked and transformed in to a force that reveals the inner SELF. One has to go beyond the three GUNAS to achieve “Self  Realization”, which is the ultimate Goal of Human life

Perfected being is the one, who has attained complete mastery over the mind, developed all the essential virtues, eradicated the vices and has realized his true identity (Atma-Jnana).
