The money has been given undue importance and wrong index of social prestige by the people which must be discouraged by the youth of the society. We should elect our leaders based on their merits and sound character. They should be a Roll Model. Dr. Swamy emphasized in his speech that India has left great past and has inherited the rich tradition. Although our country has endured long slavery of nine hundred years under Moguls’ and English rule, India has capacity to give right direction to the world.

On  Sunday, May 1, 2011, Gujarat Divya Jivan Sangh Sammelan continued at Sindhu Bhavan from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.  The subject matter of discussion was on “Dharma Raksha-Rashtra Raksha” H. H. Pujya Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj as President, chaired the discussion during the entire day. The eminent speakers were H H Swami Sri Adhyatmanandji Maharaj, H. H. Swami Dr.  Muktanandji Maharaj (Alwar, Rajstahan), Eminent writer Sri Parmanand Gandhi and the Tax Consultant Sri Mukeshbhai Patel (Former President Gujarat Chamber of Commerce).

The essence was summarized by Sri Mukeshbhai Patel as below........................

"Dharma Raksha - Rashtra Raksha"

Social Point of View!
Some Thoughts to Ponder… By Mukesh Patel

We often talk of the crisis or challenges facing our country. Infact, what our country

is facing today is not a political, social or economic crisis… but, it is a crisis of Character!

The very foundations of ‘Character Building’ are ‘Faith in your Religion’ and ‘Love for your Nation.’

In this context, the theme of today’s Conclave that ‘Dharma must be preserved to protect Rashtra’ is so aptly justified!

Why raise a Debate as to whether ‘Religion First or Country First?’ Infact, the twoshould go in harmony and not in conflict!

This thought provoking quote by Mahatma Gandhi needs to be pondered upon:

“There is undoubtedly a sense in which the statement is true, when I say that ‘I hold my Religion dearer than my Country and that,

therefore, I am a Hindu first and Nationalist after. I do not become on that score a less Nationalist than the best of them. I simply
thereby imply that the interests of my Country are identical with those of my Religion.”

Any Religious Faith or Patriotic Fervour, which is not embedded with love for humanity, can also not be acclaimed.

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi again:

“The conception of my Patriotism is nothing, if it is not always, in every case without exception,

consistent with the broadest good of humanity at large. Not only that, but my
Religion and my Patriotism derived from my Religion embrace all life.

I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings called human, but I want to realize identity with all Life,

even with such things as crawl upon Earth. I want to realize identity with even the crawling things upon Earth,

because we claim descent from the same God, and that being so,

all Life in whatever form it appears must be essentially one.”

How ironical, that all Religions teach us Love, but People practice Hate in the name
of Religion! How lamentable, when Patriotism assumes form of a Religion which comes to be described as an egg from which wars are hatched!

On  May 2, 2011, the discourses were rendered in the campus of the Ashram in the evening by Revered holy mother Divya Swaroop Mataji (Sivanand Ashram, Kendrapada Orissa); H H Swami Sri Asanganandaji Maharaj (Gyan Vihar Ashram Heranj, Kheda); H H Swami Sri Chidambaranandji Maharaj (Chiddhyanam ashram, Mumbai) and H H Swami Sri Adhyatamanandji Maharaj.
