At the Holy Feet of my Gurudev ; "Light of my life & Life of my life",  says Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Yes, this is a verbatim truth, Guru Smarana is unbroken in HIS heart.  Narrating life incidences of Gurumaharaj are so spontaneous and heartfelt that touches the heart of listeners and brings them to tears sometimes. We know that the Guru never dies even though He might  not be in the physical form, we observe that Pujya Swamiji incessantly feels the presence of Guru Maharaj. His devotion to Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj & Gurumaharaj Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj is unparallel. HE taught us to surrender to SIVA. Jai Ho!  Jai Gurudev!

Chidananda Birth Centenary Tour 2015 of Pujya Swami Adhyatmananadji is a part of  Chidananda Birth Centenary Celebrations planned by Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad during birth centenary year of Gurumaharaj (Sept 24, 2015 - Sept  24, 2016). It is indeed a rare opportunity to be a part of this memorable occasion. The key organizers of HIS past tours joined together and coordinated Centenary Tour 2015 itinerary.

"Swamiji  radiates peace, he radiates love, he radiates the inner beauty that comes from someone who is happy inside and what he shows to you is what he feels. So it’s one of those rare individuals that you come across that immediately attracts you, not because of showmanship, not because of all honors that he have, deservingly  received. None of that. Simply you sitting before Swamiji, normal conversation, nothing serious, but very profound at the same time, that’s what strikes me to think about Swamiji" – Dr. Ravi Sharma

"Swamiji's inspiration for healthy and positive thinking will leave long lasting effects in people's mind,  In His words," Think positive, Be Bold, Fear Not, Abide in Truth, Stand by Truth and rest will follow naturally. Pray fervently and ceaselessly. Remember God and Gurudev. Do your daily Spiritual Sadhana. Abide in the Supreme" – Ravi Ponanagi, PR India Tribune

Atlanta (June 3, 2015 - June 8, 2015)

By Ravi R Ponangi (PR India Tribune)

Atlanta, (Georgia):  Swami Adhyatmanandaji, President of the Divya Jivan Sanskrutik Sangh, Sivananda Ashram, Ahmadabad, India, was here from June 3-8 as a part of his Centenary Tour 2015 marking the birth centenary celebrations of His Holiness Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj to West (USA, Canada and UK) from June 01 to September 01.

His Holiness Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj (1916–2008) was well known in India as a yogi, jnani and spiritual leader. He succeeded as President of the Divine Life Society in 1963, after the death of his predecessor, Swami Sivananda, who founded the Divine Life Society. H.H. Swami Chidanandaji, right from the beginning worked and served the cause of Sivananda's mission tirelessly, and to spread his Divine Life message far and wide, not only in India but also in countries outside. He inspired others through the practice of self-discipline. He practiced a non-denominational, universal form of yoga. He often led group chanting that named and elevated all of the prophets and sages of all of the world religions equally (Lord Jesus, Ahura Mazda, Lord Buddha, etc.).

Pujya Swami Adhyatmanandaji has conducted a five-day yoga, meditation classes and delivered discourses at Rotary Club of Emory Druid Hills, Chinmaya Mission of Atlanta, North America Shirdi Sai Temple of Atlanta (NASSTA), Hindu Temple of Atlanta, Riverdale, Siddhi Vinayak.

Mandir of Atlanta and Sanatan Mandir, Smyrna from June 3-8. Swamiji conducted yoga asanas, breathing and meditation classes in the morning at Siddhi Vinayak Mandir in Global Mall and discourses on spiritual and other pertinent subjects like "Chanakya -- for strategy and decision-making," and “Stress management.” Swamiji has also conducted a special class for yoga teachers.

As Dr. Ravi Sarma, a well-known Oncologist of Atlanta said while introducing Pujya Swami Adhyatmanandaji at Rotary Club of Emory Druid Hills (RCEDH), in Atlanta for the past several years it has become a spring, early summer tradition to look forward to a visit from Swami Adhyatmanandaji. Any time you meet Swamiji, you are stuck by what all other people have met him before said... These include the sages and monks from all faiths, administrators etc., whom we revere. Seen the same attitude to describe how it feels to be with Swamiji.

The way the description goes like this, he radiates peace, he radiates love, he radiates the inner beauty that comes from someone who is happy inside and what he shows to you is what he feels. So it’s one of those rare individuals that you come across that immediately attracts you, not because of showmanship, not because of all honors that he have, deservingly received. None of that. Simply you sitting before Swamiji, normal conversation, Nothing serious, but very profound at the same time, that’s what strikes me to think about Swamiji. Listening to him is learning. He speaks many languages. Swamiji’s mission, message is one universal. Human beings, we are, what he calls external cover being what it is inner human being; real people and we communicate each other using the language of love and means of service, to serve people.

The worldwide propagation of the Wisdom Teachings of Yoga and Vedanta and the effective spread of the knowledge of scriptures that Swami Adhyatmanandaji has been doing over the past more than 40 years, has brought about an effective spiritual awakening amongst innumerable people of all age groups and varied sectors of our present day international society.

Pujya Swamiji has delivered a birth centenary lecture titled “Saints of India and their contribution to world” at Chinmaya Mission of Atlanta. The topic “Saints of India” is not only meaningful, but also very appropriate as birth centenaries of two patriotic saints of India, Swami Chinmayanandaji (b.1916) and Swami Chidanandaji (1916) are being celebrated world wide in a big way through 2016. Both swamijis are disciples of Swami Sivanandaji, founder of the Divine life society & Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh, India. Being known to both swamijis, Swami Adhyatmanandaji has shared many incidents from the lives of both Swamijis.

Swamiji also delivered a discourses on Guru Tatva and Guru Mahima in Shirdi Sai temple, Suwanee, Stress management in Siddhi Vinayak temple in Global Mall, Siva Tatva and Siva Mahima in Hindu temple, Riverdale and finally swamiji graced the Sarvadeva yagna in Sanatan Mandir at Smyrna.

Swamiji's inspiration for healthy and positive thinking will leave long lasting effects in people's mind,  In His words," Think positive, Be Bold, Fear Not, Abide in Truth, Stand by Truth and Rest will follow naturally. Pray fervently and ceaselessly. Remember God and Gurudev. Do your daily Spiritual Sadhana. Abide in the Supreme"

Pujya Swamiji's discourses and yoga teachings have brought joy, peace and bliss not only to spiritual aspirants and yoga enthusiasts but also to other people in different walks of life.

Chicago ( June 10, 2015 - June 15, 2015)

"Divine Experience"

It was indeed a "Blissful" experience to be a part of  Maharudra and Navchandi Yajana (June 13 & June 14) at Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago in the presence of Pujya Swami Adhyatmanandaji and so many Saints & Mahatma. Congregation of Vedic exponents from all over the world chanted the Veda mantras synchronously and the vibrations generated by this divine recitation invoked the very presence of the Lord that elevated higher level of consciousness which was felt by all. It was indeed a Divine experience.
तन्मे मनः शिवसङ्कल्पमस्तु॥ meaning "Let the mind be immersed in Shiva (Auspiciousness)" - the devotees, whoever tried sincerely with concentrated mind at the Maharudra Yajana, surely did achieve the prasad of Shiva and got absorbed in THAT Auspiciousness.

Sri Bhima Reddyji, President of HTGC & Sri Lakshman Agadi ji, president of Maharudra Committee thanked Pujya Swamiji for HIS presence at Maharudra & Navchandi Yajana, honoring their invitation.

Sri Swamiji enlightened the devotees of Bharatiya Temple of NWI on the subject of "Glory of Gayatri Mantra" on the occasion of their Mandir Mahotasav celebrations.

Pujya Swamiji wrapped up the "Essence of Gita - Karma, Bhakti and Jana yoga", so beautifully at the satsang programs at Gayatri Parivar and Swadhyay Parivar devotees.

It was blessed occasion for a devote couple Smt. Rakshaben & Sri Prafulbhai to receive Pujya Swamiji’s blessings on their 75 th Birthday, it was a surprise birthday celebrations organized by their friends. They have been arranging Swamiji’s bhiksha & satsang from the first visit of Pujya Swamiji in USA. Their Mom, Nandu Baa was very pious soul and was bonded to Swamiji Mahahraj so much. She had kept Pujya Swamiji’s all the letters as a treasure and used to read again & again. She passed away two years ago and what a coincidence ! That the day she passed away, Swamiji was here in USA and attended her condolence meeting!

As always, "Morning Yoga" sessions at HTGC was appreciated by all. And a new Chidananda Centenary Yoga DVD was (is) well received. They love it. It contains 84 yoga postures. It indeed is "Yoga teacher comes to your home " in a true sense. People will reap the benefits of it forever. People expressed thanks to Swamiji for making this treasure.

OM Namo Narayanaya
Namaste ૐ
Swami-ji visited Community Medical Center in Toms River, New Jersey on the evening of July 2nd where he was welcomed by the financial CEO of the hospital and where he instructed a Yoga practice and held a discourse about the benefits of Yoga. Many repeat students who come to see Swami-ji every year say “It is always a blessed experience to be in His presence and learning about Yoga from such a wise and wonderful teacher. He is a true Master.” New students were feeling inspired and asking when Swami-ji would be returning as He is loved by all who meet Him and His words make such a profound impact on the lives of all who listen.

On July 3rd, Swami-ji visited Kula Kamala Ashram. His Holiness conducted a Divine Yagna to bless this new space and then He spoke with a group of students about the meaning of mindfulness in Yoga. The Blessed event started with a wonderful kirtan led by David Dragonfly. All the beautiful voices raised up to the heaven as this community chanted the Divine Name. So happy to spend time in His company, the evening ended with students saying that they felt their lives shifted toward the better and that they felt they gained a deeper understanding of Yoga. While at the Ashram, Swami-ji planted a tree in celebration and gathered many students together in the kitchen to teach about cooking Indian food. We are always grateful for our time with Swamiji and look forward to his visit next year.

OM Namo Narayanaya! God Bless You!

New Jersey (July 12, 2015 to July 16, 2015)

By Sri Ajit kothari, (President, Sanatan Mandir, Parsippany)

Pujya Swamiji arrived at our temple on Sunday, July 10 at 7 pm for the program starting at 7:45 pm. I arrived a few minutes later and found Pujya Swamiji already sitting on his asana. We all know how particular he is about timing. The topic for the satsang was Bhagwad Gita Chapter 6th  "Dhyan Yoga". He started with last verses of Chapter 2nd selected verses from Chapter 3rd to build proper background for Chapter 6th. The subject matter continued to build as we moved into subsequent discourses on July 13, 14 and 15.

His knowledge of the subject, communication skills and melodious voice are exemplary. Everyone in the audience enters into a sort of trance where they are fully immersed into the divine nectar that is flowing. His sense of humor and use of everyday examples make difficult spiritual subjects much easier to understand. He has a unique ability to put everyone at ease by conversing in their mother tongue and showing genuine interest in their personal welfare.

Since this year is a special centenary celebration of his Gurudev - Swami Chidanandji - he related many incidents from his interactions with his Gurudev to explain how his Gurudev lived Gita and Upanishads in his day-to-day life as he encountered various situations. We found this narration to be the highlight of the discourses since we had no prior knowledge of Pujya Gurudev's personality traits and his deep compassion and love for every living organism around him.

The morning yoga sessions were a huge success as people filled up the hall before 7 am. Pujya Swamiji meticulously organized the asana and pranayam sequence for all four days to ensure full coverage of the subject. He emphasized the medical rationale for the asanas and implored everyone to begin a regular daily practice to derive most benefit from these practices. He also unveiled a new DVD of Yoga asanas recently developed at the ashram in India.

Overall, the program was a huge success and the local community members around Parsippany were able to derive precious pearls of wisdom from Pujya Swamiji's vast knowledge. Pujya Swamiji is always welcome at Shri Sanatan Mandir every time he visits the US.

We would like to thank Pappu and Vimal Sodhani for hosting Pujya Swamiji during his stay here and Tejal Shah for providing overall coordination and direction to the NJ program.

Madison & Milwaukee ( July 25, 2015 - July 28, 2015)

Swamiji Maharaj arrived at Milwaukee on the night of Saturday, 25th July by about 9:15 pm. The next morning, Swamiji presided over Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam performed at Mandir of Madison. He enlivened the function and engaged all devotees in the ceremony by explaining the significance of rituals as they were being performed by the priest. He explained the significance of Shiva and Parvathi’s wedding itself. Swamiji narrated the episode of Goddess Sati taking rebirth as Parvathi, daughter of Parvatha Raja Himavan and performing intense austerities to attain Shiva as her husband. Mother Parvathi had one-pointed goal namely reaching Shiva. She was not distracted by anything else. She abstained from eating pleasing food and subsisted on tree leaves. Later on she gave up even those leaves which brought her the title, Aparna. The seven sages came to test her and so did Lord Shiva himself. Moved by her love and devotion for him, the Lord fulfilled her wish of marrying him. Swamiji compared the individual soul to Parvathi. The individual soul desiring union with the supreme soul, performs intense austerities with one-pointed devotion and in the end merges with the supreme soul. This is the significance of performing Shiva-Parvathi Kalyanam, explained Swamiji.

In the afternoon of 26th, Swamiji returned to Milwaukee where a 2-day Yoga workshop was arranged at the Hindu Temple of Wisconsin. The focus of the workshop was on those Asanas which particularly help people who spend long hours sitting in front of computers. Swamiji taught flexibility exercises for the wrists, fingers, shoulders, neck and eyes. Asanas for the back were then taught along with those that help vital breathing capacity of the lungs. A very simple but most beneficial breathing technique called Sivananda Pranayama was taught which can be performed literally by anybody and of any age. The asanas taught included – Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Baddha Naukasana, Shalabhasana, Uttanapadasana, Paschimottanasana, Uttittha Paschimottanasana, Naukasana, Vakrasana, Ushtrasana, Shashakasana, Shvana kriya, Gomukhasana, Pada Hastasana, Kati Uttasana and Makarasana. Omkara Pranayama was taught along with Sivananda Pranayama. The group of about 30 students appreciated the explanations given by Swamiji on the benefits of these Asanas. On the concluding day, the President and priests of the temple honored Swamiji with a Shawl and thanked him for sharing the invaluable knowledge of Yoga and Pranayama with the Milwaukee community.

Swamiji was invited to the office of General Electric Health Care, the leading manufacturer of healthcare equipment, to share knowledge of Yoga and Pranayama to its employees. In his unique style, Swamiji taught them essential Asanas and breathing techniques that will prove helpful to modern office-goers and impressed upon them that even a little of this practice will protect them from unnecessary medical complications. The coordinators of the event thanked Swamiji Maharaj and presented him a momento as a token of their appreciation.

Apart from the main programs, Swamiji spent quality time with devotees who were eager to listen to his wisdom teachings. Swamiji reminisced with great love episodes from the life of Guru Maharaj Swami Chidanandaji which illustrate how Vedanta is put into action. On one such occasion, Guru Maharaj Swami Chidanandaji went to the dilapidated shack of a poor devotee who was a long-time worker at Sivananda Ashram. Knowing that the devotee was ailing and was in no financial condition to properly receive and honor the great Swami, he carried along with him all necessary items of hospitality. The devotee was greatly pleased and honored Guru Maharaj to his satisfaction. Guru Maharaj then had tea with the devotee treating him all the time as an equal. This was a great lesson in equanimity to the accompanying disciples.

On another occasion, Guru Maharaj was invited to inaugurate a grand Hospital to which a number of dignitaries had been invited. On the way he saw a dog trying to safeguard its newborn babies from strangers. He gave the dog a few biscuits that were offered to him and while doing so noticed that it was behaving strangely. The Guru diagnosed that it was blind and melted with compassion at its plight. He proceeded to the inauguration function and in that gathering of over a thousand people, requested any veterinary doctor that may be present to please come forward to help a sick patient. A kind doctor came forward but expressed his inability to treat ophthalmic cases. Guru Maharaj persisted in finding the right doctor and after several enquiries over next few days, found out that such treatment was available in Ahmedabad. The dog was brought to the proper veterinary clinic, treatment given and its sight restored.

On yet another occasion, during one of his solitary walks in Rishikesh, Guru Maharaj found a dog lying on the road. It was apparently hit by an automobile. The poor creature was in a helpless condition and vulnerable to further accidents on the road. Guru Maharaj cordoned off the area with a stone boundary, immediately came to the Ashram hospital and took a doctor to the accident spot. The dog with its broken leg was taken to a veterinary hospital and properly treated. When it could walk normally again, Guru Maharaj left it at the same spot where it was found since it would be familiar with those surroundings and not have to fend for itself in new surroundings. Such was his vision of oneness and compassion that no living creature escaped his full attention and love.

Swamiji recounted the day when a prominent dignitary, Shri V V Giri was to visit Sivananda Ashram at Rishikesh. As preparations were swiftly going on, a few lepers came to meet Guru Maharaj. Some dwellings in their leper colony had collapsed due to the prior day’s heavy downpour and a number of lepers had nowhere to go. Guru Maharaj sat with them giving his full attention and listened to their sorrowful tale. He called Swamiji (Swami Adhyatmanandaji) and asked him to draw out the map of the leper colony since he was intimately familiar with it. Guru Maharaj then had the collapsed dwellings identified on the map and assessed the impact of the situation. He then instructed Swamiji to immediately go to the leper colony and arrange to have necessary repairs done, rather than coordinating the dignitary’s visit. Swamiji followed his Guru’s instructions and by end of the day got all the repairs completed. Guru Maharaj keenly enquired into the situation that night and himself visited them the next morning. Such was his equanimity that his treatment was the same towards dignitaries of the society as well as the downtrodden and poor.

What to speak of lepers or dogs, even plants did not escape his care and compassion. On one occasion inmates of the ashram neglected to water the plants that were given as gifts to the ashram. Guru Maharaj abstained from food and water for two days. Seeing him in a weakened condition, Swamiji enquired into the reason. Guru Maharaj told him, “These plants were given to us as gifts and hence they are like guests to us. If the guests are not fed, how can I as the President of the Ashram have food and drink?”. The inmates thus got a reminder about the importance of performing their duties. More importantly they were astounded at the Guru’s vision of the world in which he seems to see no difference between a plant, an animal, a human being or a VIP of the society. “Vidyavinaya sampanne Bramhane Gavi Hastini, Shuni chaiva Svapake cha Panditaah Samadarshinah” meaning, “The sages perceive the same truth in the Brahmana rich in knowledge and culture, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eating outcaste.” – Gita 6.18.

After concluding his brief but highly inspiring stay at Milwaukee and Madison, Swamiji proceeded to Toledo, Ohio on 28th afternoon for his next stop as part of Divya Tour 2015.

On Sunday evening (Aug 2), at the invitation of India Association of Lima, Swamiji visited Lima, Ohio and captivated the hearts and minds of the audience there with his talk on: Meditation- Theory and Practice. Finally On Monday August 3 we had lunch with Rohit & Priya Laungani and their kids at their Northville MI residence before Swamiji's scheduled flight to Chicago.
