Key to Bliss - "Meditation on OM" from Mandukya Upnishad by Swami Sivananda

"That is the state of deep sleep wherein the sleeper does not desire any objects nor does he see any dream. The third quarter or condition is the Prajna whose sphere is deep sleep, in whom all experiences have become one, who is verily a mass of consciousness, who is full of bliss, who enjoys bliss, and who is the way leading to the knowledge (of the two other states)."

"The Jivatma experiences deep sleep when he does not experience sound and other objects of senses by the cessation of the functions of the nineteen organs. There is no functioning of the mind in this state. Egoism also is absent. But there is avidya, the veil of ignorance."

"Under the orders of lsvara, he who is coupled with Avyakta, the vehicle of Maya having entered the microcosmic Karana body, reaches the state of Prajna. He goes by the names of Prajna, Avicchinna, Paramarthika and Sushupti Abhimani. Just as a bird, tired of roaming, flies to its nest with its stomach filled, so the Jiva being tired of the actions of the world in the waking and dreaming states, enters Ajnana and enjoys bliss."

"In deep sleep one does not attain Brahmajnana, the knowledge of the Self, because as soon as he comes to the waking state he is still ignorant, he beholds the multiple or manifold objects, he is affected by the external objects; whereas a sage who returns from Samadhi has full knowledge of the Self, he perceives unity or oneness everywhere. He is not affected by the worldly objects. This is the difference between sleep and Samadhi."-  Swami Sivananda <<Read complete >>

Early Morning Meditation talks from "Ponder These Truths" by Swami Chidananda

"All Things are Possible"
"Beloved Immortal Atman! Blessed children of the Divine! The ways of the Lord are mysterious. But one fact is certain: no matter how other things might change, the Divine Reality, the Cosmic Being, the supreme Universal Spirit is always the same, the unchanging. He is always the ever-full, the all-perfect. He is always all-merciful. He is always the ocean of compassion, the ocean of love, an ocean of grace. And He is always sarva-samartha—omnipotent, all-powerful, capable of instantly doing anything and everything that He divinely wills."

"And what a great thought, that we belong to Him. He belongs to us; we have a claim over Him. And He is all that you desire in the form of a life’s companion, a helper, a partner. When you contemplate this truth, that we have such a great Being, such an all-perfect, omnipotent Being, such a sympathetic, understanding and compassionate Being as our best friend, as our life partner, as our constant companion, as our ever-ready helper, you can do nothing but rejoice, rejoice and rejoice. You can do nothing but rejoice. It is the truth of our life, and that Being is the One who is closest to us, closer than anything else."  - Sri Swami Chidananda << Read Complete>>

Learning of  "Jeevan Yog" from a Yoga Acharya Sri Swami Adhyatmananda
Through TV episodes of "Jeevan Yoga" Series by Doordarshan Girnar

What is Yoga?  How Yoga can be done ?

Yoga: Advantages and Suggestions

What is Yoga? The common meaning of the word Yoga is 'to join'. This word is derived from the Sanskrit element 'Yuj' , to "yoke," or bind,” or “join together.” It also indicates “union” or “Oneness.” At the deepest spiritual level, yoga allows us to reveal the Self, the True Essence of our Being.

Yoga means "maintaining balance" in eating, walking etc. That is why it is said that Yoga means balance in life style. 'Samatvam yoga uchyate.'

In addition to this Shree Krishna has given very beautiful and exact definition of Yoga: 'Yogah karmasu kaushalam'. That means Yoga is one where work is done with dexterity. What is this dexterity in Karma? It means whatever you do, the job should be exact, it should not be soft-padded or like a loosely filled bag: whatever you do, do it well, properly organized.
Maharsi Patanjali defines Yoga as control of the leanings of the mind. 'Yogaschitta vrittinirodhah.' This is the highest aspect of Yoga - Swami Adhyatmananda << Read complete>>

Look at Nature, there is Fall & Spring, there is Sunrise & Sunset, and there is Ebb & Flow. It is the Law of Nature. Ups & down is a part of Life. Don't be afraid of adversities, they make you strong. In all situations, be rooted in the Absolute Truth, Abide in the SELF, sing HIS Glories, Surrender at the holy feet of your Guru. Hold on to Hari-Nama, Intensify your faith only on one thought " I am Thine, Thou art Mine, Thy will be done". Guru's Grace is unfailing; it is ever ready to help you. I have experienced in my life, you can too".............

It has caused a threat to human existence, millions of people are sick and suffering from the Virus, loss of human lives in a few lakhs.  It is an urgent need for us to do our part at the individual level to overcome this crisis and think about what can I do to prevent the Corona virus disease at home and the people around me? Follow the rules diligently. Keep safe social distancing. Wear a face mask.  And most importantly, think positive  "WILL Power Wins ALL Powers". Maintain your mental poise, and stay cheerful, have no fear even in difficult circumstances. Enhance and build a strong immune system. Practice Yoga and Pranayama regularly. I pray for the peace of departed souls and recovery of all who are afflicted with Corona virus. I pray for the protection of frontline workers, all the doctors, paramedical staff, police force on duty, and local administration serving the society."..........

"Once again I say, Be cheerful. Be peaceful. Be Blissful. Enjoy your present moments and be with your family, eat together, pray together. Pray fervently, sincerely, and wholeheartedly. Prayer elevates the mind. It fills the mind with purity. Have perfect faith in the Lord's name. His name is your sole support and refuge. Parables of Sri Swami  Sivananda

"Parable Of The Ghee-Dyspeptic"
A man took too much of ghee during a feast. He became ill. His digestive functions had become paralyzed. He went to a doctor. The doctor said to him: "Please bring me one tola of ghee; I will prepare the medicine and give you."
The sick man was wonder-struck; "O doctor, I am suffering only from the effects of too much of ghee-drinking. Why do you wish to add to the trouble?"
"My dear man, please bring the ghee. I will show you what to do with it. The same ghee is your medicine now."
The sick man brought the ghee. The doctor added a few other ingredients to it and administered it in the proper dose. The man was cured. His appetite returned to him.
Similarly, by Karma is man bound to this wheel of birth and death. Egoistic action done with desire for fruits brings about rebirth with all its attendant miseries. The man approaches a saint for a cure. The saint prescribes service, work or Karma again! Can work itself snap the bonds of work? Yes. If the ingredients of selflessness and egolessness are added to it; and if it is done, not for the purpose of securing rewards here or hereafter, but for the purpose of curing one of the dire disease of birth and death. Then it becomes Nishkama Seva that will release man from this cage of Samsara.

Remembering " Sannyasa Diksha" day  of Holy Master Sri Swami Sivananda (June 1, 2020)

Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj’s Sannyasin life was the most ideal and exemplary model to the Sannyasin of the present era. Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate and Realize" is the Summon Bonum of the Divine Life, that is the essence of HIS teaching. Practice Yoga, Religion, and Philosophy in daily life and attain GOD-realization. - Sri Swami Adhyatmananda << Read Complete>>
