Durga Puja  (Navaratri) - a festival of Devi  Worship ( October 8, 2010  to October 17,  2010)

Devi worship is, worship of God’s glory, of God’s greatness and supremacy. It is adoration of the Almighty. The worship of Devi, the universal Mother, leads to the attainment of knowledge of the Self. Sakti is all. She can do anything. She can make or mar. She can mend or end. For the sake of the continuance of Her Divine Play here, She Herself, as Avidya-Maya, has veiled the Truth from you and bound you to this Samsara. When She is propitiated through the practice of sincere devotion and unconditional self-surrender, She, as Vidya-Maya, removes the veil and enables you to perceive the Truth.

No one can free himself from the thralldom of mind and matter without Mother’s grace. The fetters of Maya are too hard to break. If you worship Her as the great Mother, you can very easily go beyond Prakriti through Her benign grace and blessings. She will remove all obstacles in the path, and lead you safely into the illimitable domain of eternal bliss, and make you absolutely free.

Create Opportunities

"Radiant Divinities! Beloved sadhaks and seekers! An intelligent person makes use of every opportunity that God provides him or her in this upward ascent towards perfection. An intelligent being is ever upon the look out for opportunities to elevate himself, to improve himself, to move forward, progress and to work inwardly for an unfoldment that will enable him to put forth the maximum abilities, faculties and talents that he knows are within him."

"Because the impact of each one of us is first upon the world outside, and then it boomerangs and comes back on us. We have to enjoy or suffer what we are, for everything comes back. But the first impact is upon those amongst whom God has placed us. Therefore, be wise. Look out for opportunities. Make use of every opportunity. Create opportunities for self-improvement, to progress, to become a better “you,” and thus make the world happy that you are in it. This is the key to move towards perfection, slowly and steadily, day by day.  - Swami Chidananda  << More>>

Sheetali and Shidhkari Pranayam
The word "sheetali" means cooling in Sanskrit, it is taken from the original word "Sheetal" which is soothing or cold. The practice of sheetali breathing calms the mind, reduces the stress. It cools the body and mind, The blood pressure is also lowered. This pranayama is very effective in hyper acidity or even ulcers.

Sit in Padmasana or Cross legged position in which the body can be relaxed and spine is erect. Then start inhaling through mouth by rolling the tongue, make sure that the air passing in is cooled via tongue. Initially 4 seconds inhale through mouth while rolling the tongue and exhale for 6 seconds through both nostrils, this can be practiced for about 5 minutes. With practice one can increase the counts to 4:8, or 5:10 or 6:12 seconds. << More>>

Divine Inspiration

  • We are here only to love God, adore Him, to Worship Him, with  deep devotion and boundless love. We are part of Him. He is everything to us. He is our very own, We belong to Him.

  • Intense Bhav alone has the power to ultimately take you beyond the mind. It is only when Bhav comes into your life that something happens: for then this Bhav will take you from  processes to the Reality, which cannot be reached by processes. Your senses will perceive only the outer name and form. That's all. Only Bhav penetrates and goes into  the heart of the matter.

  • The simple  truth is that you who come and pray for blessings and grace are already blessed and graced . faith in God, a desire to be blessed by Him-such feelings arise only in a being who is already grace and who has received blessings from God and His saints

  • It is only a divine being that can experience the Divine. You have to reflect the nature of God. When God looks at you, He must feel the reflection of His divine nature in you.
