Key to Bliss - "Meditation on OM" from Mandukya Upnishad by Swami Sivananda

"Prajna,
whose sphere is deep sleep, is  'M, the third part (letter) of Om because it is both the measure and that wherein all become one. He who knows this is able to measure all and to comprehend all within himself."

Just as a heap of rice is measured by a prastha, a kind of measure, so also Visva and Taijasa are, as it were, measured by Prajna in Pralaya (involution) and Utpatti (evolution). Visva and Taijasa sink in Prajna during sleep and emerge out of him afterward. This is compared to measuring by Prajna

When the syllable Om is chanted or repeated again and again "A" and "U" appear to merge themselves in "M" and come out of it again. Similarly, the waking and dream states appear to merge in deep sleep (Prajna) and come out of it. Visva and Taijasa also merge in Prajna during sleep. Therefore, "M," and Prajna is likened to a measure that is used in measuring rice or barley. Prajna is like a big vessel that contains two other vessels, viz., Visva and Taijasa. ln Prajna all things lose their identity, all become one. Therefore Prajna is identical with the letter "M."

He who knows this is able to measure all. He is able to know the real nature of the world. He is able to penetrate into the real nature of the universe. He is also able to comprehend all within himself, i.e., to be the cause of all. He realizes himself as the cause of the universe, Isvara. << Read More>>.

"Christ Divine Life "  By Swami Chidananda

"Lord Jesus the Christ IS; here and now! Christ is Eternal. He has proclaimed this truth to the world not so much by words but by His glorious Resurrection. Where then is He to be sought and found? He abides where Virtue is and goodness. He is enshrined in the Divine Life of Love, Purity, Truth, Holiness, Prayer, Ceaseless Service and utter selflessness. In the heart where shine the light of Faith, Devotion, Humility, calm resignation to the Divine Will, Compassion and a genuine thirst for Righteousness, therein is Christ present, vibrant, vitally alive and radiantly manifest. O beloved Brethren! be ye also like Jesus and you shall find Christ within yourself now."

"Christ has given Himself to Mankind not so much as a personality but as a way of living, as a Path. He embodies in Himself the method of the Divine Ascent. To rise from the little human personality you now possess and ascend into the Christ Consciousness is to ascend from the unreal to the Real, from darkness to Light Everlasting and from death to joyous Immortality. When you have thee Christ Ideal before you as a shining example you cannot utter the excuse “Which is the way? I do not know the way. I would fain follow it if only I knew.” The ringing assertion of Christ, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to Father but by me.” Yes, verily, verily is it true that growing into the Christ Ideal is the one sure and certain Key to the Kingdom of Immortality." - Swami Chidananda << Read  More>>

Through TV episodes of "Jeevan Yoga" Series by Doordarshan Girnar

Primary Yogasana (Yoga Postures) : The Physical techniques of Yoga are the stepping stones to meditation. According to Patanjali, Yoga is the cessation of the modifications of the mind.

In the beginning the primary prerequisite to peace of mind is posture. Yogasana practiced to gain steady posture, health and lightness in the body. All Yoga postures are intended to directly or indirectly quiet the mind. The majority of Asana have been devised to build up different parts of the body and to develop the strength required by the more advanced  Physical disciplines. The purpose of the yogasana is to recondition the system, both mind and body, and to develop the nervous and glandular systems. The different Yoga postures have been devised to bring a rich supply of blood to the brain and to the various parts of the spinal column. The yogasana work by stretching, bending and twisting the spinal column in different directions to promote the health of the nerves. Glories of Bhagawad Gita on the Occasion of Gita Jayanti  (December 25, 2020)

In all the spiritual literature of the world there is no book so elevating and inspiring as the Gita. It expounds very lucidly the cardinal principles or the fundamentals of the Hindu religion and Hindu Dharma. It is the source of all wisdom. It is your great guide. It is your supreme teacher. It is an inexhaustible spiritual treasure. It is a fountain of bliss. It is an ocean of knowledge. It is full of divine splendour and grandeur.

The Gita is the cream of the Vedas. It is the essence of the soul-elevating Upanishads. It is a universal scripture applicable to people of all temperaments and for all times. It is a wonderful book with sublime thoughts and practical instructions on Yoga, devotion, Vedanta and action. It is a marvelous book, profound in thought and sublime in heights of vision. It brings peace and solace to souls that are afflicted by the three fires of mortal existence, namely, afflictions caused by one’s own body, those caused by beings around one, and those caused by the gods.

The Gita contains the divine nectar. It is the wish-fulfilling gem, tree and cow. You can milk anything from it. It is a book for eternity. It is not a catch-penny book, with life like that of a mushroom. It can be one’s constant companion of life. It is a vade-mecum for all. Peace, bliss, wisdom, Brahman, Nirvana, Param Padam and Gita are all synonymous terms.

The Gita is a boundless ocean of nectar. It is the immortal celestial fruit of the Upanishadic tree. In this unique book you will find an unbiased exposition of the philosophy of action, devotion and knowledge, together with a wonderfully woven synthesis of these three. The Gita is a rare and splendid flower that wafts its sweet aroma throughout the world.

If all the Upanishads should represent cows, Sri Krishna is their milker. Arjuna is the calf who first tasted that milk of wisdom of the Self, milked by the divine Cowherd for the benefit of all humanity. This milk is the Bhagavad Gita. - Swami Sivananda << Read More>>
