His Lotus Feet
" Worship the Guru with the flowers of faith and devotion. Satsanga with the Guru is the first pillar in the temple of Self-realisation.Grace of God takes the form of Guru. To see the Guru is to see God. Blind is the man who has not seen the divine Master. There is but one religion, the religion of devotion and love to Guru."
"Everyone who longs to transcend misery and obtain joy and happiness in life should sincerely practise Guru-Bhakti Yoga. True lasting happiness can be had by taking recourse to Guru Seva Yoga.  Sri Swami Chidananda

No One Can Give You Salvation

“No one can give salvation to any individual except that individual himself or herself.”
“You have to work for liberation from sorrow and the attainment of bliss; no one can give it to you; you obtain it by your own effort. In spite of all that has been said about Guru’s grace and divine kripa and miracles, nevertheless, the truth is that supreme state of blessedness is something you can give to yourself; no one else can give it to you.” ........Swami  Chidananda << More>>

Health Topics" from a Book " Yoga & Health " by
Swami Adhyatmananda

Headache
Headache is a condition of pain in the head, ranks amongst the most common local pain complaints and may be frequent for many people. The vast majority of headaches are benign and self-limiting. Common causes are tension, migraine, eye strain, dehydration, low blood sugar, and sinusitis. Much rarer are headaches due to life-threatening conditions such as meningitis, encephalitis, cerebral aneurysms, extremely high blood pressure, and brain tumors.
Treatment of an uncomplicated headache is usually symptomatic. The performance of Sivananda Pranyama for a period of ten to fifteen minutes with mind fully quiet and composed will relieve headache and is known to be a very useful panacea for blood pressure, mental tension, and irregularity of the stomach, although some specific forms of headaches may demand  more suitable treatment. << More>>

GURU

"Rain-water falling upon the roof of a house flows down to the ground through spouts shaped grotesquely like the tiger's head. One gets the impression that the water flows from the tiger's mouth, but in reality it descends from the sky. In the same way the holy teachings that comes from the mouth of godly men seem to be uttered by those men themselves, while in reality they proceed from God."
- Sri  Ramakrishna

"What is the nature of Guru's grace? It is beyond thought and word. Then how can it be said that the devotee realises his true Being by virtue of the Guru's grace? It is like the elephant which wakes up on seeing a lion in its dream. Even as the elephant wakes up at the mere sight of the lion, so too is it certain that the disciple wakes up from the sleep of ignorance to the knowledge of Real. It is true and certain."
- Sri Ramana Maharshi

If  we are wise enough to follow the Guru's instructions,
we will open a wide channel through which
grace rushes towards us,
Inundates us, fills us,
and lifts us up to sublime heights.
- Sri Swami Chidananda

The Guru is the boat
To cross this ocean of Samsara
The Guru is the passport
To the kingdom of Eternal bliss;
The Guru is the ladder
To lift you to the peak of perfection.
Serve your Guru well with Bhakti.
You will obtain his grace
And reach the goal of life.
- Sri Swami Sivananda
